TV News Anchor Battles Breast Cancer

Cynthia Mulligan is being treated for breast cancer. When her blond hair began to fall out she had it cut and went shopping for a wig with her young daughters. Cynthia Mulligan works as the Education Specialist and Host on CityNews Toronto. She is battling breast cancer and has come to see the latest technology in Wigs and Hair Prostheses. She has a simple (and great) motto: “Look Good. Feel Good.”

She is sharing her cancer experiences in a very public way: Mulligan, as a CityTV on-air news anchor and reporter in Toronto, Ontario. She is blogging and doing television reports as she traverses the Canadian medical system and the challenges of undergoing chemotherapy and loosing her hair.

In this story, she talks about why she decided to investigate a wig (or hair prosthesis), why she took her young daughters along, and how she talked with them about breast cancer.

It’s a great piece. Watch it. You’ll be very glad you did.
